The Spell It program has seem a lot of progress in our school this year.
The programme started last year funded by the Droogfontein Solar Farm.
The learners enjoy the activities because it improves their vocabulary and is fun.
In our school I have 37 learners that participate in the programme from grades 4-6.
I give the Spell It classes 3 times a week, as well as running reading classes with Foundation Phase Learners.
This week we used the games from the Spell It resurce kit as well as reading stories like Shabalala's Garden from the Nalibali website.
I do the same on a weekly basis. I also use these resources working with the Reading Club at the school.
The challenges are that the learners at our school are not on the same level of reading and spelling but I'm willing to take some extra efforts till they are on track.
The programme implementation is on track and we are seeing good improvements in Learners.
