Welcome to Nakatete Secondary School
Nakatete secondary school was set up in 1971 as a community initiative school to serve Chawama and Kasengele communities in Kafue town. It was established initially a primary school from 1971 to 2013 until 2014 when it was upgraded to a secondary school.
It is located in the south east and about 3km from town center along the Kafue-Livingstone road. Just behind the hill is a small perennial stream from which the school derives its names Nakatete. “Nakatete” means a small reed. In an effort to decongest the four secondary schools in Kafue by then, the government of former president Mr. Michael Chilufya Sata upgraded some basic schools into secondary schools in 2014 and Nakatete was one of them.
