SEL - Social awareness
Social awareness can be described as the ability of a person to consider the perspectives of others, communities, or groups in a social setting and apply that understanding to their interaction with them.
This skill area can be associated with social-emotional learning. An excellent way to think of this is by contrasting it with self-awareness. While self-awareness refers to students’ ability to understand themselves and their actions, social awareness is more about becoming more aware of other people and feeling compassion for them.
