PREPARE 5 Minutes
Show students the short video Top 10: Ways Animals Survive the Winter, and discuss the adaptations animals have developed for wintering in North America.
PRESENT 5 Minutes
Prepare students for the group demonstrations by discussing the format, establishing the order of presentations, and your expectations for the outcomes.
PARTICIPATE 30 Minutes
Groups should share their presentations with the class. Allow 5-8 minutes per presentation.
PRACTICE 10 Minutes
Have students fill out the "Final Thoughts" section of the Polar Powers Project Worksheet as as take-home or independent study activity.
