Personalised learning
What is personalised learning?
Personalised learning is a learning experience that specifically caters to each student’s specific need with things such as gamification, and other tools that promote interactive learning methods, one teacher can offer several different personalised options to their class.
Why is personalised learning effective?
Though it is heavily dependent on the quality of teaching this learning method facilitates a students’ approach to the subject. When done and executed correctly personalised learning will allow the class to eventually reach the same level of knowledge. Pushing children to work on their own goals from an early age will allow them to create a personalised learning method that will follow them throughout their lives.
How can we bring personalised learning into the classroom?
The very first step towards personalised learning is integrating systems, software that students are already familiar with, be it tablets, laptops, or their own smartphones. This creates a direct line of communication between the teacher and each student while allowing the students to interact with each other outside of school hours.
Once you as the teacher have an understanding of your student's strengths and weaknesses and the areas where they need more assistance, then you can start creating customised work plans tailored to each student's needs. You can use blended strategies to aid you in accelerating students growth.
