The school was established in 1980, to cater for platooning learners from Nantes Primary School, and was first named Eersterust Nommer vier Laerskool. September 25th, 1982, the school was
Officially opened by the Director of Department van Binnelandse Aangeleenthede (Kleurlingsake), Mr, A.J Arendse, and the school was then named Primere Skool Northridge because it was on the Northern side of Eersterust. Later it was discovered that there is another school in Pretoria North with the same name. The school’s name was then changed to Norridge Park Primary School, as a compromise name, with no direct baring or significant meaning to the community.
The school was known as an Afrikaans medium school, catering for coloured learners from Eersterust.
In 1986 when St Martins School closed down, learners and teachers from that school were then sent to Norridge Park Primary School. A large number of English medium learners and teachers were amongst those that were sent to Norridge Park Primary School.
The school then became a dual medium school in the year 1994; the school later became an English medium school, which made it possible for the school to attract more learners from surrounding areas such as Mamelodi, Silverton, Eersterust as well as other surrounding areas.
The school has 3 Grade R Practioners, 5 Grade 1 Educators, 5 Grade 2 Educators, 4 Grade 3 Educators, 6 Grade 4 Educators, 5 Grade 5 Educators, 5 Grade 6 Educators and 5 Grade 7 Educators.
