#Wednesday Wisdom*
There is a proverb that says, "The silver-haired head is a crown of splendor and glory. It is found in the way of righteousness."
Basically what this proverb is saying is that, "If you have lived to this ripe old age then you must have done something right because being a fool will kill you quickly"
Gladys McGarey is a 103 year old doctor and in this video she shares the wisdom that she has picked from over a century of life.
She says:
*1) Reach out for life, don't shrink back*
Embrace life fully; don't let fear hold you back. Live boldly, express your true self, and use all your talents and opportunities to their fullest. Maximize every chance you get.
*2) Don't get stuck, get help and keep moving*
Remaining stuck or stagnant in life for too long can have several negative consequences. It can lead to a lack of personal and professional growth, causing feelings of frustration and dissatisfaction. Stagnation often results in missed opportunities, as fear and inertia prevent you from taking risks and embracing new challenges. This can erode self-esteem and confidence, as you may feel incapable of achieving your goals. Additionally, staying stagnant can negatively impact your mental and emotional well-being, leading to feelings of boredom, anxiety, and depression. Relationships may also suffer, as others may perceive you as unmotivated or unproductive. Overall, prolonged stagnation stifles potential and prevents you from living a fulfilling and purposeful life.
*3) Immerse yourself in community*
Being part of a community provides support, encouragement, and shared resources, helping you overcome obstacles more effectively. It fosters a sense of belonging, reducing feelings of isolation and stress. Community members offer diverse perspectives and solutions, enhancing problem-solving abilities. Social connections within a community boost mental and emotional well-being, promoting overall health. Additionally, communities create accountability, motivating you to stay productive and achieve your goals. Together, these benefits lead to a healthier, more fulfilling life.
*4) Love is the key to life*
Live with love
Labour with love
Listen with love
Laugh with love
