Chipa-Tabane Comprehensive High School is situated in South Africa's Premier Diamond mining small town of Cullinan in Refilwe Township. The school was established in 1989. It started with 12 staff members and just over 200 learners. Today the school has a total staff Complement of over 80. The school enrolls learners from the 8th to the 12th grade. The current learner enrollment is 2099 learners. The school offers a comprehensive curriculum that include the following fields and subjects:
Languages: English and Sepedi
Natural Sciences: Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Technical Sciences and Mathematical Science, Technical Math, Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, Technical, Sciences , Electrical Technology, Civil Technology, Mechanical ,Engineering Graphics & Design,Consumer Studies ,Agricultural Studies.
Sport and Cultural Activities
The school participates in the following activities yearly: Soccer, Netball, Athletics, Ladies Soccer and Volleyball
Various field events & Indigenous Games.
Our learners also take part in various curriculum competitions such as spelling bee, poetry and debates.
The school does relatively well and has not underperformed in matric for over 12 years. The school achieved a record 94.7% results in 2019 few months after joining Partners for Possibility Leadership Development Programme.
We have been supported by various companies in the past with Petra Diamond mine being the main sponsor. Our relationship with this Cullinan Diamond Mine has seen the following projects taking off the ground in the past number of years:
1. Maths Support Programme
2. The refurbishing and equipping of the Technical workshops
3. Offering of bursaries and scholarships to grade 10 to 12 learners, just to name but a few.
Our participation in the PfP school leadership programme has brought much needed vibrancy in the school and has contributed immensely in the way the school is run in the recent past.
