Janine Botha the PfP business partner at Maope Secondary School in Bela Bela in the Waterberg is a community person at heart and the environment of PfP has equipped and further encouraged her to go the extra mile during this lockdown period. She tells us a little about this amazing initiative:

“I, Janine Botha, oversee community projects in the Waterberg area, Limpopo, called Hands of Hope NPC. We love being out in the community, among the people.

This however is now not possible due to the Covid-19 season we find ourselves in. We got involved in Modimolle food drive in our community, making sure the families affected by Covid-19 get foods in this time.

We planned at the start of the new year 2020 to run our winter Back-to-school shoes project for May 2020, (which benefitted all 8 of the Modimolle PfP circle schools in 2019) and we had to adjust this. We re-evaluated the needs in our community and how we can meet some of them. We realized toiletries are a big need, and people need masks.

.

We are very thankful for people who partner with us, to allow us to assist our community in such a time as this. We give a big shout out to Leighton Fisch, who chose us for his senior year fundraiser project – and allowed us to buy toiletries. And also to London Church who sponsored the material for the masks we make!

What a privilege it is for us to be a part of a bigger team making an impact where we are NOW. And this is how we reach the community, one individual/family at a time.”
