My name is Thozama Holland I am a teacher assistant at Hanover Primary School.
This is my update for quarter 1 of 2024.
In this term, we completed spell2read2write pack 1 and activities in it. We started with ORF, cursive writing, vowels and consonants, short story (the Big Red apple), Yenza and Alison courses. I rate my class 7/10 for this term.
The highlights for this term was to meet my new priority learners and to see them enjoying to meet me and to be in a new grade. Another highlight was to see them enjoying the consonants and vowels videos, lastly was the Alison courses which helped me alot in terms of managing my class, to know each of every learner's abilities, the courses was very effective and educational.
The challenges for this term was that I did not have enough time to finish Alison courses on time because of the work teachers gave me to do (their admin), and they are always absent so I had to look after their classes most of the time, and also my assignments was one of reasons I couldn't finish Alison courses on time.
In the next quarter me and my colleagues we will be focusing on pack 2, reading activities story 1, story 2, story 3 and comprehension.
The stories are: The hare and tortoise, Mandu's running shoes, There's a monster in my cupboard, Winning is not everything, How to be a Superhero. Our last activity will be Schonell Spelling Test.
