Mozambique is located on the eastern coast of southern Africa, bordered on the north by Tanzania, the northwest by Malawi and Zambia, to the west by Zimbabwe, to the east by the Mozambique Channel and Indian Ocean, and to the south and southwest by South Africa and Swaziland. It has an area of 801,590 km² and an estimated population of approximately 28,000. 000 inhabitants according to the 2017 population census). It is part of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries, SADC, Commonwealth, Organization of the Islamic Conference and the UN.
